“Just wanted to let you know that we survived the brutal flights from Nairobi to Washington D.C. and are happily ensconced in my house trying to put together something that looks like Christmas. We had the time of our lives and have already recommended CI Azumano Travel to friends and strangers alike. The camps you chose for us were absolutely perfect and our drivers just sheer delight to be with. Our early morning bucket showers at Elephant Pepper was memorable as was the spear wielding Masai that escorted us to our tent every evening. I slept through the roaring lions during our last night and Danita slept through the large animal brushing up against our tent very early that morning. We couldn’t, however, ignore the rhino that the lions had killed during the night. That was gruesome but it didn’t stop us from taking photos. We also very much enjoyed our visit to the elephant orphanage and was sad that we didn’t get to see our baby elephant. But we were also happy to hear that she was moved to the next phase of the program and will someday be reintroduced back to the wild. And, of course, how can one leave there without adopting another elephant. I adopted the one who had been there the longest and Danita, who has a bum knee from her Army days, adopted the baby who had been shot in the right knee by the poachers who killed his mother. They’re just too precious. We made new friends along the way and have so many wonderful stories to go along with the several thousand photos we took. Thank you again for giving us these wonderful memories.”
